Celebration Time

RL-wise! Being of mixed ethnic background, i feel like i get the best of both worlds,
my mother being caucasian white, from England, and my father Arab.
Me & my siblings were brought up in a household where we were given both cultures, both celebrations, both backgrounds, and i feel like thats shaped me to be with person i am today.

This weekend has been amazing so far, its 'Eid' - a celebrated muslim festival, and its been awesome that the whole family from both my father and mothers side have come together, we've had feast after feast, and theres a great family reuinion party this evening.

Times like this i feel extra grateful for what i have been given.

Connections

I love how you can come across so many different ppl in SL,
TP'ing to specific locations and being welcomed and drawn into whats there.
its like your wandering along and BAM you end up having a random indepth conversation with someone from the other side of the world, which leads onto and ends up with you both being firm friends.

I could not help but remember my Grandads words as I spent a quiet night inworld at the Library near Balbao Pacific.  It was quiet, empty and had that whole musty, atmospheric vibe resonating there.
I loved it.

It reminded me of when i was young and sat in my Grandads study, sat cross legged on the carpet with my sisters and brothers, at his feet, hanging onto his every word.
Even now it makes me smile when i recall us siblings, mouths open, eyes wide, unblinking, staring in love & awe at Grandad, listening to his soft lilting voice, the slight quaver when he talked about his experiences in wars, his poverty ridden childhood in the East, his struggle to arrive in the UK and raise his family here, in peace with solid, genuine, satisfactory work where his children, grandchildren & greatchildren can make the most of what is at hand and flourish.

It was one of those wierd, unusual times in SL where thoughts, surroundings and memories harmonised with each other and time was a blur.

I spent a while inworld sat in that library, lost in thought, and not wanting to get up and lose the moment.

Hanging out with the soldiers

I came across a military base inworld and decided to check it out.

Turns out the soldiers are really friendly and couldnt wait to show me around and take me for a flight.

Being a fan of emoting and having really stimulating interesting conversations, the soldiers suprised me when i noticed that they emote REALLY well (im not sure why i did not expect them too! lol) but i was happy :)

I ended up hanging out there most of the day with them..considering i dont normally go to these sorts of places, i was very pleasantly suprised!





One of the soldiers let me be a passenger in his aircraft and took me on a tour of their base :)

He made me laugh alot and said he will teach me to fly some of their most badass planes one day - result!

when i decided it was time to leave, i was walking to the civilian area where there were a bunch of ppl hanging around watching.

I noticed this one guy had this awesome scar on his face skin and i just could not resist going up to him
(dont ask - im a sucker for guys with that whole chiseled scarred look :/ ).

....... but then i kinda got the feeling his scary looking girlfriend did not approve me being next to him!
*rolls eyes* i mean come on! i'm not stealing him off her or anything, gawwwddd, i was being a perfectly polite stranger with a fondness of scars thts all!! *grins*

Fields of Gold

One of my favourite things inworld is to just take some time out and have a walk around,
enjoy the surroundngs, take in the view. Evrytime i log inworld, I have to take some time out to do this.

One of my good friends inworld,  Grace, had a good long heart to heart with me lastnight,
she told me that since Gav left, I've withdrawn myself from our circle of friends.
That suprised me alot...I knew i have lately tended to be the first out of our friends to get up and make excuses to leave, but that's just because I have to get my 'wandering' fix dealt with - and that I wanted my 'coupled friends' to have time to themselves.
Grace understood that, but she argued the point that i never used to care about that before.lol.

It has been several months since Gav and I split, and i do think i've been fine,
ive had my lows, espiecally now it seems that Gav lately has even stopped contacting me or responding,
so even our 'friendship' seems to have disintegrated...
which is always a sad thing in sl....you always do hope that the friends and partners you have you will always be in touch with, and be close.
but my friends have really rallied around me, and ive really begum to enjoy SL again, as a single girl(!)

I came across a beautiful isolated sim near Bimini, all windswept, leaves everywhere and long grass with yellow flowers....i love that kind of thing

Halloweening

So me & Felicity were in the mood to get 'scared' inworld, so decided to go check out what SL had to offer Halloween-wise.
Afterwards we were feeling a little let down by what we saw,
(none of us peed ourselves with fear like we wanted to),
so we ended up having some candyfloss to cheer ourselves up

in 'The Flesh Game' you have to wear their own Hud and contestant tags and follow the clues and hints to do the game.



The fox was going around asking for everyones BB number..lol, he certainly talked the talk!
